I confess delaying on this post a bit because I never know how to talk about stuff like this. Like, ever.
But yes, this past month, I was on the podcast/radio broadcast of Focus on the Family to talk about my book with Harvest House, Permanent Markers: Spiritual Life Skills to Write on Your Kids’ Hearts.
Despite my severe imposter’s syndrome, it was a cool life experience, guys. (If you like this kind of stuff, you might like this post from my FamilyLife Today interviews.)
So personal updates can feel a little like coming out of the bathroom with toilet paper stuck on my shoe? Talking about my life, as well as finding material my four teenagers rubber stamp, feels…well. Awkward.
But I do appreciate the ways so many of you follow this blog, occasionally reaching out with your thoughts and encouragement. So consider this a right-back-at-ya.
Pull up a chair.
When my four kids were little and life resembled a 24-hour Bounty commercial, I read a statistic in Parents magazine that something like 78% of new moms, when choosing between sex and sleep, chose sleep.
Um. Duh.
So guess what I got in the mail this week?
It’s real, folks. After a long…long path here, Permanent Markers releases October 5. (Grab the first chapter free via the right-hand sidebar of my blog, if you’re game.)
In my house, we’ve got a lot of big feels. (My husband has dubbed our house’s pet sin “self-control”.)
So we work a lot with managing emotion–so emotion doesn’t manage the whole house, m’kay?
Though you’ll always be able to reach this site at agenerousgrace.com, it’s been wisely recommended I change this blog’s name in order to better to reach my target audience. I’ll always welcome readers of both genders and all seasons of life–yourself included.
My content will remain largely the same.
