My family, end of 2019.
So usually I’m squirreling away posts with ideas in case you’re stomping through some of the same territory I am: Kids failing a band audition (and helping them deal with failure). Teens whose choices scare the crap out of you. Wondering if you’re burning out.
But every now and then, maybe some of you want an update on my life this side of the screen. (Maybe you don’t.)
For most of my life, I’ve been one of those people who could fall asleep anywhere. This is both a rich blessing and potentially a mortifying curse, of course.
Airplanes? Hotels? Weird bedrooms? Check.
Sometimes my microwave feels like a microcosm of my life.
To clarify: Not like this cute, peaceful stock photo.
Sitting with my daughter yesterday, she expressed she had a little fear for 2020. It’s a big year, she explained, with some personal stuff, plus elections and Olympics and what-not.
My first inclination–in light of how young she is, of course–was to brush away her fear.
